Agreed Hurriya! But I also think that we, as a culture, have this odd tendency to immediately translate thoughts of time into thoughts of money. I talk about time and the gift of this moment quite a bit and everyone’s thoughts seem to go to saving money as the sort of neglected flip-side of living in this moment. I think separating the ideas of time and money is very healthy, and possible, if we think of our actions less as economic moves and more as those of living breathing temporary human beings. The utmost enjoyment of the present doesn’t have to cost a thing, nor be translated to economics. I think we live in a society that thinks in economic terms a whole lot more than the societies of the past — even our great heroes today are business tycoons, ya know? I’ve been striving to parse money apart and treat it as one pillar of my life, removing it’s growth over the other pillars the past couple years, so I suppose I’m just particularly aware of this. Cheers!
